Shirley Charlotte Zuzarte

Shirley was born in Lahore, Pakistan, to Lawrence and Lilian Saldanha. She was the penultimate of seven children—two elder sisters, two younger sisters, three brothers in between. She was christened “Charlotte”, but her older sisters gave her the name “Shirley”.

Shirley attended St. Joseph’s Convent School, where she came first in her class and was featured in the newspaper. She was married to Frederick Zuzarte (m. 1965, Karachi) and had 5 children: Gillian (Ron) David, Karen (Graham), and the twins, Donna (Wayne) and Jeff (Patricia). They emigrated with three children from Karachi, Pakistan, to Montreal in 1971, where the twins were born. She was a resident of Scarborough from 1976 until her passing.

Shirley enjoyed listening to classical music, reading mystery and historical novels, and spending time with her 11 grandchildren: Avery, Danika, Sebastien, Zak, Luke, Malcolm, Sabrina, Ethan, Eileen, Jared and Isabela.

Her radiant smile and warmth will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, please give to a charity of your choice in her name.

Visitation will be held at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, located at 4115 Lawrence Ave East, West Hill, Ontario, M1E 2S2, Canada. The visitation is scheduled for February 27, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at St. Joseph's Parish, located at 200 Morrish Rd, Toronto, Ontario, M1C 1E8, Canada, on February 28, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
