My family was stationed in Fulda, Germany and my dad served under General Irzyk there and in WWIi in the Battle of the Bulge.  I attended elementary school with his son, Al.  Those were the best 2 years of my life.  General Irzyk , no doubt, has found an army to lead in Heaven.  Beverly Brooks

I remember my two tours in Vietnam and working with the General. I remember the visit of his wife to our compound and escorting her around Saigon to do a little shopping. She came over from the Philippines to visit the general at the change of guard at our headquarters and turn over the area command to Colonel Taylor. I will always have fond memories of the General and his Mild manner

Since the day we met you first in Bastogne on 10-Dec-2006 , I have started all my letters to you in the same way, underlining my deepest respect for this true US Hero, and highlighting our common true friendship. Through the years, it was a real honor and privilege to meet you several times in West Palm Beach, and in Chaumont, Belgian Ardennes where we dedicated a park to you on 12-Sep-2009. 

The Belgian People are deeply missing you, but we shall always remember your heroic deeds which led to the liberation of many villages in the Belgian Ardennes. 

We send our most sincere condolences to the Family and wish them a lot of strength in these difficult moments in life

     I had the please to speak with General Irzyk on two occasions.  He became known to me through social media as I was searching for information regarding my great-uncle's 8th Tank Battalion.  The rest obviously is history.  We wrote a few times and he sent  me his book, truly amazing.  Through our talks I was inspired to write my own book about my combat experiences.  Thank you for not only your service to our nation but also with speaking with me.  Deepest condolences to the family and friends at this time.  I was Sergeant Valentino ,19 67 & 68 after TET I served with the general in Saigon as an unlisted aid I lived with him for six months at his villa and enjoyed playing ping-pong every night after dinner. I traveled everywhere he went as a bodyguard and drove him no matter where it was . I also had the privilege of meeting his wife on two occasions when she came to Saigon to visit him. The pictures ; from the Villa with the Mrs. and our cook . I was an MP with bravo Company of the seventh 16th  MPs.  I served any country February 67 through November 68 (2 tours).
