

Born April 16, 1938, in South Boston, Massachusetts, to Mildred and Patrick Bresnahan, Ann married Joseph “Joe” Carmody in 1957. They settled in Norfolk, Massachusetts, where they built their home and raised their family. They lived in their home for 65 years before moving to Florida in 2022.
Ann was a dedicated employee of St. Jude’s Church in Norfolk for 32 years, where she showed kindness and compassion to everyone she served. She will be remembered most for her warm smile and enormous heart, her deep love for family and friends, and her pride in her Irish heritage; she loved to sing along to Irish music and dance a lively jig. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Joseph (Joe) Carmody, and her son, Matthew (Matt) Carmody. She is survived by her son, John (Jack) Carmody of Somerset; her daughter, Mariann DuPont, and son-in-law, Mark DuPont, of Jupiter, Florida; her grandchildren, Sarah Confer (Rich), Joe Carmody (Caitlin), Brandon DuPont (Meagan), Merrick DuPont, and Morgan DuPont; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Main Street, Norfolk, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
