Ann Nielsen Kenney

January 18, 1939 – December 12, 2024

Ann Nielsen Kenney, 85, died peacefully on December 12, 2024, surrounded by her adoring

family in her final days. Born on January 18, 1939, in Washington, D.C. to Christian and Ruth Nielsen, Ann moved to West Palm Beach as a young child. She attended elementary through high school at the “School on the Hill” and graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1957. Ann attended Florida

State University, where she was a member of Zeta T au Alpha. It was at FSU where she met the love of her life, Frederick Philip Kenney, with whom she would share 64 years of marriage. Together, they raised four children.

Ann's passions were many and she lived life with enthusiasm. A lover of travel, she explored the world, but it was Hungary that held a special place in her heart. She often lived there months at a time with her daughter and granddaughters, Alexandra and Katherine, who were participating

in specialized physical therapy.

A lifelong lover of art and art history, Ann found joy in studying and appreciating the beauty

around her-whether in nature, music, paintings, animals, plants or the vibrant Florida skies. Her curiosity and creativity shaped much of her life, and she shared this love of learning with her

family, inspiring them to appreciate the arts and the richness of diverse experiences. Ann was a talented artist, excelling in photography, enameling, painting and sewing. She made her own dresses growing up and continued to sew for her daughters and granddaughters for special

occasions.

She was a treasure hunter who loved finding unique and forgotten antiques, especially during the family’s many summers in New England. Ann had a discerning eye and a keen sense of

style. Ann never lost interest in learning new things or making new friends. She cherished her weekly bridge games in Jupiter with her lifelong friends. Ann was also proud of her Danish

heritage and cherished her cultural roots deeply. She collected many Danish artifacts and took great joy in celebrating and preserving the traditions of her ancestry.

Above all, Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother and cherished every moment she spent with her family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frederick Philip Kenney and

her siblings Lance, Jan and Wolcott. She is survived by her four children, Philip Kenney (Jo Ann), Kristen Kenney-Knight, Ted Kenney (Krissy) and Tiffany Kenney Wiseman (Scott) and her

eight grandchildren Alexandra and Katherine Knight (father, Edward Knight), Shannon Kenney,

Megan Kenney, Caroline Wiseman, Beck Wiseman, Kaitlin Kenney and Christian Kenney.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pathways to Independence, a program to enrich the lives of disabled adults. 401 Northlake Blvd. North Palm Beach, 33408. The family will hold a private burial service. Friends and family are invited to visit

on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 26 Dunbar Road, Palm Beach Gardens
