
Wellington, Florida: Despina (Depi) Theofilopoulou Mangum, passed away July 8, 2025. Depi was born in Kifissia, Athens, Greece to the late Athanassios Theofilopoulos and Xanthi Theofilopoulou. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of seventy years, Carl. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Aikaterini, Eftihia, and Constantina. Depi is survived by her children Rodney and Xanthie.
Depi was a graduate of the French Ursuline Order in Greece receiving her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and Mathematics. Depi met Carl in Athens, Greece in the 1950’s while they were serving in the U.S. Government. A distinguished 30 year career took them around the world. In retirement, they enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends. Depi and Carl resided in Greece and in their adopted home in South Florida. Depi will be remembered for her kind heart, warm spirit, gentle wisdom and sense of humor. She never saw a stranger. She always had a warm smile and was there to help everyone. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those she nurtured, supported and inspired throughout her long and meaningful life.
Visitation will be held from 4pm - 6pm, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Quattlebaum Funeral Center, 5411 Okeechobee Boulevard, West Palm Beach, Florida 33417
Funeral services will be held from 11:30am to 12:30pm on July 23, 2025, at St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, 110 Southern Boulevard, West Palm Beach, Florida 33405 followed by a Committal Service at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449. Father Chrysostom Mitchell will be officiating.
