Francis "Bud" S. Sanzone

Bud was born October 3rd, 1942 in Rome, New York to Samuel and Frances Sanzone. He attended Rome Free Academy, graduating in 1960 and went onto LeMoyne College where he graduated in 1964 with a degree in Economics. Upon his father’s passing in 1964, Bud took over the family business, Sanzone Distributors, later renamed Spirit & Sanzone Distributors, a local beverage distributing company that operated from 1920 to 2020.

Bud’s many interests included sailing, reading, and traveling. He visited six continents in his lifetime, including a trip to Africa where he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro at the age of 60. He was a very devoted and generous man of the Catholic faith, and his generosity and faith will continue to live on in the many charities and schools that he helped fund throughout his lifetime. His devotion to his faith was matched only by his love for his wife, Marguerite Hurley Sanzone, who he married in 1966 at St. Peter’s Church in Rome, New York. He and Marguerite had five children, Kathryn, Mary-Margaret, Fritz, Bill, and Zachary, along with three children-in-law and nine grandchildren.

A private service will be held at St. Edward Church in Palm Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to St. Edward Church in Palm Beach, Florida, or Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City.
