James and I met in Washington in the late 1980's and stayed friends throughout his lifetime. He lived an amazing life and enjoyed telling stories of his adventures around the world - particularly in Brazil. He loved listening to Brasil 66 music and would grab your hand and pull you into a Bossa Nova dance. He loved sitting by the pool at the Biltmore, where he would take pleasure in finding errors in the newspaper. He loved inviting guests for champagne and smoked white fish, as long as they didn't stay too long. He spoke  often of his former wife Aniko, and his brother Robert, with love, respect, and gratitude. 

Jim was a good friend of the family. Will always hold fond memories during his time as a diplomat posted to São Paulo, Brazil.


I met mr Weiner when I began working at the Biltmore in Palm beach.  He was such a caring and friendly man. A true gentleman.  He will be missed.
