Bob was born on July 8, 1941 to Kathryn Sullivan & John Gilligan in Waterbury, Connecticut. After graduating from high school, he moved to Florida and attended the University of Miami, while working nights at the FBI. He graduated from UM School of Law and spent his career working as an Attorney in Broward County.
He met Marion while working for the FBI, and they wed. They had one son, Shawn Gilligan.
Bob was predeceased by wife, Marion (Hall), parents, Kathryn and John, and brother Thomas. He is survived by his brother, John (Jack) Gilligan, son, Shawn Gilligan, daughter in law, Kimberlee Gilligan (Kearney) and three beloved Grandsons: Patrick, Michael, and Shane Gilligan.
