He was an amazing person. He did like really too much younger women, but he freely admitted it. I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to work with him for over 5 years. Wonderful heart. I know he will be missed by many.

very few people know this about Dr. Franz Blau that he was also a ventriloquist he had a dummy with a white lab coat with round circle glasses and kids would get to get their picture taken on his lap with the dummy named Dr. Seemore and when email address came available I made mine Dr. Seemore in memory of that dummy.  Dr. Franz Blau was a great pediatric optometrist brilliant in the field of vision therapy I will truly miss him, he was a mentor of mine.  He truly loved his work and his patients. 

I just found out about the passing of Dr.Steve.  Dr Steve, a colleague,  had an amazing impact on me both professionally and personally.  I can remember about 38 years ago while attending my first vision conference, being a recent graduate of optometry school, Dr Steve reached out  to me as a friend, mentor, to make me feel comfortable and welcomed at the meeting. He asked me to join him and his group for dinner so I wouldn't eat alone. That began many years of our collaboration and communication in regards to our mutual passion  in optometry, vision training and even magic.  While my parents were down in Florida, he examined and cared for my mother, so kindly.  His legacy lives on in my heart and spirit.

This is extremely sad. I was very saddened to hear this news when I brought my dad in for his annual apt in late December. Dr. Franzblau was my family eye doctor since before I could walk and I’m 37 now. I have very fond memories of his wife Alley who was so loving and affectionate towards me. I remember her always hugging me and loving on me when I was little. He was such a kind and caring man. I feel like you don’t get many doctors like him any more. But Dr. Mazza has definitely filled his shoes with her compassionate approach and caring bedside manner. Dr. Franzblau will be missed and I send my deepest heartfelt condolences to his family. Thank you for always having a smile and for always making me feel comfortable and cared for throughout my entire life of you caring for my vision. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my mom, dad and brother and for all of the other I’m sure hundreds of people who you were able to positively impact through your practice. Hi, my name is Richard Freeman. Steve was a classmate of mine at SCO and a very good friend. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. 
Two things always come to mind when I think of Steve. First, his military story about being put in a large swimming pool style hole with water, mud, and a competing company of men. It's a great story and I'm sure he to it to you.
This story I doubt he ever mentioned to anyone. In our pathology lab, we were given about 50 microscope slides to copy and also write a description.  Steve and I split the work. Steve drew the picture and I wrote the description. 
Unfortunately, Fransblau and Freeman are next to each other alphabetically and that's how the workbooks were collected.
We sweated that for about a week. (Our workbooks looked identical) Luckily, no one noticed and nothing was ever said. We both passed with good grades.

Dr. Franzblau had been our family’s optometrist since the 1970’s  and we valued his advice for eye care.  Over the years I saw many people who were mentored by him that have gone on to be professionals with training from one of the best.  You will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Dr. Franzblau was an amazing doctor and story teller.  Very blessed to have had him treat me and my 2 sons the last few years.  He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing.  My condolences to his family and friends. 
He will be greatly missed at our Florida COVD meetings.  I first met Steve at one of those meetings about 10 years ago before I opened my VT practice.  He was always so encouraging to me and willing to share his vast array of knowledge. He was so passionate about changing lives. 
It was always a joy to listen to his stories, especially the one where he prescribed yoked prisms to a girl with CP. It always brought tears to his eyes when he told that story, and to ours as we listened, knowing how much of an impact he made on that girl’s life, as I’m sure he did for many many others.  He was a very caring man. May he Rest In Peace ❤️

I first met Dr Franzblau when I was about 8 years old and I went to have my eyes examined by him when his practice was in the Palm Coast Plaza.  I remember the bifocals he prescribed at the time- trying to keep my myopia from advancing. I've worked at the office with Dr. Franzblau since 2002. He was always passionate about optometry and proud of the evolution of the profession. His true calling was helping children not only see better, but finding those more hidden visual issues that affect learning. He was always thrilled when parents would report back how much better their children were doing in school as a result of VT. The kids loved his magic tricks and the parents loved how he interacted with the children and the fact that they'd finally get answers and help. Steve was kind and caring and would entertain us with his stories of days gone by or his vacation trips. We will miss him dearly here at the office.

I had the pleasure of working very closely with Dr. Franzblau for about 8 years. I shared an office with him and the last 4 years he was a mentor to me, teaching me all he could about vision therapy and binocular vision. He had so much knowledge to share it was impressive. I hope to follow in his foot steps regarding vision therapy. He was one of a kind and always had a big smile on his face and great story to tell.  I’m so happy I knew him and wish I had more time to work together. He will absolutely be missed. I pray for comfort for his family.

Stephen was a friend, colleague and mentor. He was a very caring man. He liked to entertain others with his magic and had a great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. A big hole has been left in optometric care in Palm Beach County. He was the best at what he did to help so many struggling with vision problems.

My sincerest condolences to the Franzblau family and staff.  We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Franzblau.  It was always a pleasure to speak to him, he was a joy and always made you feel knowledgeable and special.  May he Rest in Peace.

My deepest condolences to the Franzblau family.  I met Dr Franzblau at a palm beach optometric society meeting when I was a freshman at Southern College of Optometry.  I later did my externship in the fall of 85 in his office.  He treated me not only as a colleague but as a friend even though I was still in school.  He invented and patented many VT diagnostic test, some of which I still use to this day in practice.  Whenever I ran into him at a meeting I was sure to get a lively story or good joke.  He was a good friend and a great mentor.  I will miss him.

I met Steve in 1978 when I first started practice in Palm Beach County.  He was an inspiration to me and always fun to talk to about life in general, which he lived to the utmost.  I'll miss him a lot.  My condolences to Barry and the rest of his family.

I started seeing Dr. Franzblau around 1982 when his office was over on Forest Hill and Florida Mango.  I have never been to any place since then accept Family Vision Center.  He was an amazing doctor, as are the doctors that he has brought along beside him to Family Vision Center since that time.  Dr. Franzblau always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say every time I was there.

I am so sorry for your loss! I pray that God comforts family and friends at this time!  I know that his legacy will live on! 

My deepest sympathy to your family. What a wonderful man, he will surely be missed in our community! My daughter was finally diagnosed correctly thru Dr. Franzblau for her eye tracking problems with reading comprehension in 2nd grade. I am happy to say she just graduation FAU college with an English Education Degree and wants to help other children with reading and writing issues, just like she overcame!!! It really makes such a difference in the life of child's education, and vision.

Dr. Franzblau was an amazing doctor. Thanks to his expertise he diagnosed and treated my son's visual deficiencies. I will forever be grateful for that. We will truly miss him. 

He was my eye doctor since 1970.  I appreciated his honesty and integrity.  He always kept up with the latest technology in eye health.

We wish to express our deepest condolences to Dr. Franzblau’s family and friends. Our daughter was a patient these last few years. She has autism and she gets very nervous in examination rooms. He was so patient and delighted her with his magic and jokes. His treatment plan for convergence has helped her make great strides with her school work. We are so thankful for his dedication and expertise. We also thank him for his military service. He will be greatly missed.

Dr Franzblaue was my dr since summer of 1976. He was an amazing dr who had the patient drive knowledge to give me the best vision. Such a drive and just an amazing dr. So kind and even my last two visits he always told me stories since I was long time patient. My  BB last visit I made a more recent appt and he said you just want to se e me again. I said that’s right I do I want to see you!!!  I will remember him always with utmost fund ness and welllits hard to put V words   O met him in 1976 and for me he was. Very special and will be  very much missed and well remembered. 
I also met son Barry who briefly helped with my contact lenses.

My son and I are from Trinidad and Tobago.  We met Dr. Franzblau a couple of years ago when I brought him up to Florida to get Dr. Franzblau's second opinion regarding his Amblyopia.  He was so gentle and welcoming, he made my son very comfortable as he went through the various exercises and tests.  We would like to say thank you to his family for sharing him, so he could help so many, as was the case with my son.  May he rest in peace.  He accomplished  so much while he was here, he will leave quite a legacy I am certain.  

My whole life I have struggled with concentration and reading, frequently losing my place and having to reread whole passages.  These debilitating symptoms had long been confused for ADD and were most pronounced on the MCAT, which, unable to complete any section, I failed.  I may not have ever been accurately diagnosed and treated if not for Dr. Franzblau, who had similarly struggled with convergence insufficiency as a young man.  Dr. Franzblau knew exactly what to do, and, following his diagnosis and treatment, I scored in the 90’s percentile, including the 99th percentile in critical reading.  Dr. Franzblau, because of your help, I am now able to become a doctor and continue your legacy of helping others.  I cannot thank you enough.

We were cousins of Steve.  We were his patients as well. He really knew “his stuff” and while always being professional, he always managed to share a joke or funny story. He had a great personality!  My Dad, Carl Franzblau had tremendous eye challenges, born blind in one eye and Steve, tried so hard to  make his vision  as optimum as possible. 
He will be missed as a cousin as well as our eye doctor.

To Dr. Franzblau’s family and staff let me say I share so deeply this loss of such a lovely man.  For over 20 years I have been indeed blessed with his devoted professionalism, sincere care, delightful wit and overall gentleness and kindness. A true professional who honestly cared about everyone around him.  I am at a loss for words as I was looking forward to my next appointment with him next week.  It is hard to imagine having another eye doctor like him again - old school is a real compliment when it comes to him.  I wish that I had met him years ago -  my heart and prayers for all of those in his life that are grieving right now. May God bless all of those people and give them peace.  

It was a pleasure meeting Dr.Franzblau.  He treated my son  from he was a toddler and made great recommendations which was greatly appreciated.   He will be greatly  missed.

Dr Franzblau was my son’s doctor since he was a young boy. His vision issue was one where we tried many doctors before him with no success. Upon our first visit, he explained his condition and developed a treatment plan that my wife and I drew comfort we found the right doctor. Over the decade his vision condition greatly improved. No other doctor could have helped him more. We are eternally grateful to Dr Franzblau. Rest In Peace.

My deepest apologies and condolences to Dr. Franzblau's family. I had attended vision therapy with Dr. Franzblau at a young age and remained a patient of his for nearly 20 years. He has been instrumental in the improvement of my vision and has greatly helped. He was always kind, patient, and always took the time to brainstorm adjustments I could make in my life to improve my vision. Despite living further away from his office, he has been more than worth the drive to maintain as my doctor. I am so unbelievably sad to hear of his passing. It is very sad to hear the news of Dr Franzblau passing away.  He was very kind and great at what he did. He was very passionate about children and helping them overcome any problems they may have been experiencing. My son saw him a couple of times before we moved to another state and he always gave me plenty of pointers and advice on how to help Leo with his vision and always made sure Leo, who suffers from anxiety, was always relaxed. He made the experience fun for my son and I immediately knew how caring he was. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family, and colleagues during this unfortunate and hard time.
