My earliest and clearest memory of her was delicious cookies a jar with a wooden lid.  I don't remember the type of cookie exactly but they had peanut butter in them.  I had one while visiting her one day with my mother when I was around 4 years old (31 years ago).  As we were about to leave (standing in the driveway), I asked her if I could have another cookie and she agreed.  I went inside and grabbed one cookie with my left hand, but I really wanted a second. Grandma wasn't the type of grandma you could mess around with so I knew one cookie meant ONE cookie.  Still I didn't know when I was going to get the chance to have another one so I decided to take a second one and put it in my pocket. I was wise enough to know that if I put it in my pocket it would still be visible through my pants, so,  clever little boy that I was (so I thought anyway), I decided that I could just put my right hand in my pocket around the cookie. I figured that grandma would just assume I had my hand in my pocket and that was it.  I would get two cookies.  I walked outside and got into the car with my Mom and Grandma just smiled at me the entire time.  She stood by my window as we were getting ready to drive away.  She wished us well said her goodbyes then looked at me smiling and said you can take the other cookie out of your pocket.   I was horrified that she had figured me out notwithstanding all of my planning, but I was also relieved that she was so kind to me even though I had just stolen a cookie from her.

This experience has always represented to me my Grandmother  a strong woman with a kind heart.

Words will never be able to describe how amazing this woman is!!! When she married my grandpa, she took in 2 little girls with open arms and unconditional love.  Thank you for giving your heart to grandpa, my mother, to me and so many others along your journey.  I will miss you!

We love you and you are in our hearts and prayers. Even though this is hard, please take comfort in the fact she isn't suffering anymore and has her own peace now, in God's hands. Lean on Him for any strength you may need and lean on us, your friends, whenever needed.

I feel so blessed to have had her as a grandma. She was so sweet and kind, my family and I loved her so much. I'm happy that she gets to be with grandpa, but I'll miss our phone calls (already do) . She was so strong and determined. I will always admire her for that. R.I.P Grandma
