Born on December 7, 1942, in Coalville, Utah, Colleen was the daughter of Harold and Pearl Lindsay. From a young age, she exhibited a vibrant spirit and a zest for life that would define her journey through the decades.
Colleen was a woman of remarkable talent and determination. During the 1980s, she owned and operated her own hair salon—Salon of the World—located in the iconic Little America. Her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to her craft made her salon a beloved destination for many during that era.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Colleen embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She was a skilled seamstress whose hands could create beauty from fabric; a competitive tennis player who thrived on the court; and an avid skier who enjoyed both snow-covered slopes and sunlit waters. Her talents extended into the kitchen and garden as well—she was an exceptional cook whose meals brought people together and a devoted gardener whose lush blooms were admired by all who visited. Her garden became a cherished gathering place for her family, filled with laughter, stories, and love.
Colleen had an adventurous soul and loved sharing tales from her travel days. Music brought her joy—especially the songs of Elvis Presley—and she never missed an opportunity to dance or sing along. Her positivity was infectious; she radiated happiness and warmth wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Pearl Lindsay, her beloved husband Coke, and her dear sister Connie.
Colleen is survived by her four children: Todd, (Barbara) Kelly, (Pat) Sherrie, (Blaine) and Toni, (Charlie); ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was deeply loved by each of them. Her role as mother and grandmother brought her immense pride and joy. The bonds she nurtured with each generation remain strong—a testament to the love she gave so freely.
Colleen lived a full life marked by joy, adventure, creativity, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in those who knew her best—in every story shared around the dinner table, every flower blooming in springtime gardens, every song that brings back memories of dancing feet.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Funeral Service will be held on February 14, 2026, at 11 AM at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home 4735 West 4100 South, West Valley City
