Avan Ridd Grant

Avan was born July 24, 1932 in Granger Utah to “Ted” George Edward Grant and Vera Elizabeth Moesser.

Avan was married February 1951-April 1957 and was blessed with 2 daughters, Judy and Janette.

On April 19, 1957 Avan married his best friend Norma Jeane Batt, they built their home in Granger, Utah where they were blessed with 2 sons, Dean and Dan.

Avan had a love of horses and was a member of the Palomino Posse and the Mustangers Club with his wife. He enjoyed working with his hands, including metal art and wood, and worked 50 years in construction.

Avan loved spending time with his best friend and wife Norma, and his family. He enjoyed traveling in the motor home with Norma, camping, 4-wheeling, and riding horses in Faust canyon.

Avan is preceded in death by his parents “Ted” George Edward Grant and Vera Elizabeth Moesser, sister Beth Cain, brothers, Ned, John, Earl, and Doyle, and great grandchildren Troy and Olivia.

He is survived by his loving wife and sweetheart Norma Jeane Batt, children Judy (Glen) Dansie, Janette Grant, Dean (Pauline) Grant, Dan (Melanie) Grant, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren,1 great-great-grandchild, sister Teddie Jones, and brother Loyle Grant.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday November 5, 2020 at 11 am at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City Utah. A viewing will precede the service from 10:00-10:50
