Beverly Dawson was pure sunshine. She had the most contagious, beautiful smile. She was instantly loved by all that met her. To know her was to love her.
As a wife, she was caring, thoughtful, and selfless.
As a mother she was supportive, our cheerleader, and our confidant. She showed up for every event, ready to help. She was frugal and yet so incredibly generous.
As a grandmother she was always creating memorable experiences. She developed unique traditions with each of her grandchildren like baking, sewing, and going for walks. She showed up for every sporting event, performance, and recital. She was the first to offer a school pick up. She always had warm cookies and a big hug ready for her out of town grandchildren.
She was a wonderful friend to so many. One of her dear friends put it best “She was always smiling, never complaining, but rather interested in others. A bright shining star now smiling down on us.”
She was bursting with energy even well into her 80’s, some of which was fueled by her love of Diet Coke and chocolate donuts. She used her energy to serve everyone lucky enough to be loved by her.
Things we’ve learned from her: always make sure you put the gas nozzle into the holster before driving away. How to shop all day without spending a dime. That you can eat donuts for lunch if you don’t eat breakfast.
She loved unconditionally! She had an incredible talent for making each of us feel seen, heard, and loved.
We can’t put into words just how much she meant to us and how much she will be missed.
Even with four children, she was able to earn her Masters Degree from Utah State University. She spent years working for the Davis County School District, she was a social worker for LDS family services, had a private practice in Kaysville, and she loved teaching.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim Dawson. Her children: Jeri Dawson, Diane (Allan) Trettin, Bryan (Sarah) Dawson, and Suzy (Matt) Smith. Grandchildren: Jessica, Tyler, Stockton, Jaxson, Alec, Dawson, Cannon, Oliver and Henry. Great grandchild: Blake
Due to COVID-19 restrictions we were forced to honor her request that no funeral be held. Our immediate family held an intimate celebration of life.
