“The General”
Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on October 26, 2018. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Daniel and Cornelia Branch Retford. She was the oldest of three children. Beverly married John L. Herren on November 12, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.
Beverly is survived by her two daughters, Peggy (Mike) Davis, Daneen (Pete) Patmides; daughters in law, Shauna Herren and Jackie Bourne; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother, her husband and sons, Carl and John Herren; granddaughter, Ashley and grandson, Zach.
Beverly loved her family, her church and her friends. She was a woman with a generous spirit and never met a stranger. She raised us with strong family values and a tremendous influence of true love and forgiveness. We will all miss her.
A heartfelt thanks for all of her care takers for their compassion and kindness. They helped the last chapter of mom’s life to be more comfortable and meaningful.
