Brian Lavor Syddall born January 9, 1968, passed away November 30, 2015 from a tragic car accident. He was a cherished husband who will be missed by his best friend and sweetheart, Robyn Syddall. They were married on December 2, 1994 in Sandy, Utah.
Brian graduated from Granger High School in 1986 where he enjoyed playing football, wrestling, and making people laugh. After graduating he gave two years of his life to God and served in the Ventura California Mission.
Throughout his life, Brian demonstrated a strong work ethic, and gained skills in many professions. Whatever he did, he was always committed to do his best. He was always driven to figure things out for himself, from a young age Brian always took things apart just to see how they were built. This served him well in the profession he loved, being an Elevator Technician with Otis Elevator Company where he worked for twenty one years. His job was a hobby to him; his natural talent to understand things and desire to help others was a blessing to many. He was always willing to teach or give advice to coworkers and constantly went above and beyond his job duties to please his customers.
A favorite hobby included finding a good deal. Most of the stores in the valley knew Brian by name. He had a unique ability to know when and where to look for anything at a good price. It was common for him to buy multiple items on sale and then give them to other people. Brian had a giving heart, when he saw others in need he was there with his boys to serve and assist.
Brian’s biggest love was and continues to be his family. He would always say, “Why do I need friends, I have my family.” More than anything in life, he most enjoyed being home, and when not there, he was passionately cheering for his boys at hundreds of sporting events. His love of sports, the outdoors, and gifted engineering mind have all been passed to each of his sons who currently demonstrate great capacity in many of these same skills.
All who knew Brian felt of his desire to give and assist and to bring a smile to your face. Many of his family, coworkers, neighbors, and friends have been on the receiving end of his generosity, love, and sharp whit. Even in death he chose to give life to those in dire need. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13. Brian, thank you for being our husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, we will miss you and love you forever! Until we meet again . . .
Survived by his wife, Robyn; sons, Hunter, Hayden, Kade, and Cole, parents; Billy and Wanda Syddall / Fred and Faye Gailey; siblings, Billy (Tina), Kevin, Jeffery, Russell (Sarah), Angela (Matthew) Barron / Robert Gailey, Douglas (Amanda) Gailey, Derek (Serena) Gailey, Samantha (Nathan) Allen and his many nieces, nephews, and friends who love him dearly.
