Carla Jean Watts Christensen passed away quietly on March 22, 2026, in her home. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Carla during her 69 years and 9 ½ months, among them: find humor in difficult circumstances, never throw away anything, stand up for how you want things organized, and tell people you love their guts. Memories of her include Christmas ornaments, Hogle Zoo, afghans, social media comments, Swiss Days, bratzelies, Jell-o creations, and Bunco.
She was transparent about her adoration for children: her nieces and nephews and those she nannied. She earned both associates and certified medical assistant degrees but her passion was for the families she loved and served. She had an analytical mind and loved to understand how things worked. She was a creative person and dabbled in many crafts. If she saw a way to serve you, she was all-in.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full-time mission in the California San Diego Mission. She also served as ward and stake librarian and worked with the Cub Scouts for many years.
Carla married Aaron Christensen on March 2, 1999, and he was her devoted caregiver. She joins many family members in heaven who are celebrating her return, but leaves behind sisters, brothers, step-siblings, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who are grieved for her departure but relieved she is no longer in pain. She, along with the apostle Paul, can say “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
Her service will be held at the Walnut Hills Ward, 5938 West 6200 South, Kearns, Utah, on March 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45.
