Claudean Lewis Garner

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Claudean Lewis Garner, returned to her Heavenly Father on January 30, 2022 in Hurricane, Utah. She was born on May 6, 1933 in Ririe, Idaho to Claude Lewis and Luella (Cook) Lewis. She graduated from Ririe High School and attended Ricks College where she played clarinet in the band. She met George Darrel Garner while attending Ricks College, and they were married for time and all eternity on June 4, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Together they raised three sons and three daughters. She worked for and retired from Beehive Clothing where she worked as a seamstress. She served in many callings during her life such as a ward/stake missionary and Relief Society President. She loved good books and listening to uplifting music, and she found beauty in nature. She was passionate about family history and loved sharing stories about her ancestors. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and had a firm testimony of His teachings.

She is survived by her children Jeff (Colleen) Garner, Cindy Garner (daughter-in-law), Corrine Whitham, Yvette (Mike) Foote, and Roxanne (Brad) Hansen. She is also survived by her brother Rex Lewis and her sisters Wynette Searle, Renae Lewis, Marie Alleman, and Debbie Smart as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband Darrel, her sons Conrad and Merrill, daughter-in-law Lorna, granddaughter Alisha, and her brother Neal Lewis.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 3rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and funeral services will be held on Friday, February 4th at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing held one hour prior to services. Interment to follow funeral services. All viewings, funeral, and burial will be held at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home located at 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah.
