Douglas John McIver (Mac), age 62, passed away July 30, 2011 in McCall, Idaho.
He was born August 24, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joe Allen McIver and Bonnie Rae McIver. He graduated from Cyprus High School in 1966. Mac served honorably in the United States Navy in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969, and was awarded two Purple Hearts, and the Bronze Star for Valor during his time in the service. Mac moved to Bend, Oregon in 1977 and resided there until the time of his passing after a battle with cancer. Mac was an avid archer, hunter, fisherman and golfer. He retired from Bob Thomas Chevrolet.
Mac is survived by his mother, Bonnie Rae McIver; brothers, Jon E. (Karen) McIver, Stuart M. (Patricia) McIver, and sister, Leslie McIver (Charles) Matson. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Allen McIver and step-father, Douglas D. McIver.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
