

On May 24, 2022, Edward Robert Shuffield, 46, passed away surrounded by his family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ed was born on June 8, 1975 in Arlington Heights, Illinois to Maria N. Munoz and Robert A. Shuffield. Ed’s father had a job that moved their family to several cities and they eventually settled in Bountiful, Utah. Ed played football, excelled in woodworking, art and ceramics at Woods Cross High School and graduated in 1993. After high school, Ed served an LDS mission and was called to the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania mission.
In 1998, Ed met the love of his life, Kim. They were married in Holladay, Utah on December 1, 2001. Together, Ed and Kim, have 2 children, Hannah (15) and Mason (11). Ed worked for Burton Lumber and held numerous positions within the company over the past 23 years. He loved his Burton Lumber family dearly and had many lifelong friends. Ed passionately loved his Michigan Wolverines (Go Blue) and was their biggest fan! It didn’t matter which sport they played, if it was on TV he was watching it. He was also a huge Chicago Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks and Manchester United fan. He loved camping, playing cards and having family game/movie nights. Ed was an amazing father. He was always involved with his kids and their hobbies. Ed made sure to attend every dance recital/competition, karate tournament, Boy Scout adventure or school activity. He was a great role model and always encouraged his kids to work hard and do their best.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Kim; his 2 children, Hannah and Mason; his sister, Evie Shuffield; in-laws: Michelle and Troy Upwall, Karen Eells and Michael Busch; nieces: Maya Shuffield, Paige Upwall and numerous family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert and his mother, Maria. Ed’s family would like to thank all the doctors and staff at Utah Cancer Specialists, Huntsman Cancer Institute and Symbii Hospice for all the loving care and comfort they have provided to Ed and his family. They would also like to thank Burton Lumber for their selflessness and devotion to make sure Ed and his family were taken care of through his entire cancer journey.
Graveside services to be held at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
