

1927-2015
Edwin LaVon Collins, born 12 October, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah, left for a long-awaited, glorious family reunion on November 2, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 88 years.
Remaining here are his precious and beloved wife, Opal Eileen Bailey, whom he married on 19 March 1948 and sealed together in the Salt Lake City Temple in September 1950; his daughter Marsha, sons Michael (Connie) and Craig (Jeanne); Dee and Irene Murphy; 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren and his sister Linda Rae Jones.
Edwin has joined his daughter Barbara; grandson, Ryan; his parents Walter and Virginia Collins; brother LeGrande and Tudie (Ellsworth) and many others.
Edwin will be sharing his love of the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - day Saints and regaling them with his corny jokes.
Edwin served in the California San Bernadino Mission twice after retiring from American Express as Security Supervisor.
Family and friends will be celebrating his life at a viewing at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, on Sunday, November 8, from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to serves on Monday.
Funeral services will be on Monday, November 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Harmon Ward, 4634 W. Harmon Drive (3700 South).
