Glen Dale Smith

Glen Dale Smith, age 82, returned to his Father in Heaven on April 16, 2010 in West Valley City. He was born March 23, 1928 in Salt Lake City, raised by John and Annie Smith. Married Lois N. Sperry on April 5, 1949 in Salt Lake City.

Glen was a very kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and brother. Served in the military as a Marine in WWII. He loved gardening, fishing, golfing and being with his loving family and friends. He was well-loved and respected by all who knew him.

He is survivied by his wife, Lois; children Glenna Carter, Nannette (Larry) Wolfe, Corleen (Rob) Sedgley, Kevin (Pam) Smith, Jeffery (Kerry) Smith, Kandace (John) Farrimond and Norma Peterson; sister, Pearl Cresall; 22 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; son, Chet; great-grandson, Jonas and son-in-law, Bob.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South.
