OBITUARY

Helmut Mueller

19 December, 1931 – 31 May, 2020
IN THE CARE OF

Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home

Helmut F. K. Mueller, loving son, brother, husband, father, opa, neighbor, and friend passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 after a long illness.

Helmut was born on December 19, 1931 in Berlin, Germany to Emil Paul Mueller and Wilhelmine Koepp Mueller. He studied and became an orthopedic shoe maker in Germany. In 1953 he left East Berlin and moved to Hiltrup by Muenster, West Germany. Christel Schrammeck followed him from East Berlin and they were married on October 8, 1955. They moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in October of 1956.

Helmut would work for The Church of Jesus Christ and then later for Mark Steel. Dad enjoyed nature, camping, fishing, and hiking. He enjoyed his pets, dogs, cats, ducks, squirrels, rabbits, groundhogs, and parakeets. He spent many hours in the Salt Lake Temple and doing Family History work.

Dads greatest joy was his family, those in Germany and his wife and children in the United States.

He was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on July 1, 1948 and held many church positions over the span of his lifetime. He loved serving his Master, his neighbors, and his friends.

He is survived by his children Christine (Verne), Michael (Karen), grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mom and Dad loved it when the grandchildren came and boosted their spirits.

The family would like to acknowledge the kind, loving people who worked with Helmut and Christel from Heartwood Hospice from December 2017 until the end of May 2020. Special thanks to Ben and Natalie Peterson and their children who helped with Father and Mother throughout their close friendship, and the many others who came to their aid.

A family gather and graveside service will be held on behalf of our Father and Mother at a future date.
