J. LaMont Christensen

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, and friend, J LaMont Christensen. At 84, LaMont passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, in Salt Lake, Utah. Born on July 29, 1941, in Redmond, Utah, to Howard LaMar Christensen and Maxine Peterson Christensen, LaMont led a full and cherished life.

LaMont attended North Sevier High and later married the love of his life, LarSena Sorensen, on February 5, 1960, in the Manti LDS Temple. In his younger days, LaMont had a passion for hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors with his son. He also enjoyed going out to eat, watching movies, and cherishing moments with his daughters and family. LaMont had a distinguished career in construction, specializing in residential and commercial projects, and was dedicated to occupational safety.

LaMont is survived by his children: DorRita (Kelly) Curvin, LoraLee (Thomas) Sperry, and Darrin LaMont (Karie) Christensen. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter . He is also survived by his siblings: LaMar and Lin Christensen (Lin – deceased), Jerald and Donna Christensen, Jeannene and Dee Keisel, and Carolee and Daryl Noyes. Lamont is preceded in death by the love of his life, LarSena; his parents, Howard and Maxine Christensen; and his brother, Marvin (Harve), and Paula Christensen (living).

We invite you to join us in honoring LaMont's memory. Services will be held in the Valley View Funeral Home on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 9-10 am, where friends may visit with the family. The family prayer will take place at 9:45 am, followed by services in the chapel from 10-11 am. Graveside 11-11:30 am, luncheon at the church will follow the service at 3676 W 4700 S, West Valley.
