John S. Underwood, age 61, passed away October 12, 2010 in Murray, Utah from complications of cancer.

John was born April 5, 1949 in Clearfield, Utah to Colonel Underwood and LaNora Oliver Underwood. He graduated from West High School in 1967. He married Colleen Crowther on July 7, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He loved being with his family, grandkids and friends. His favorite hobbies were fishing, camping, woodworking, carving, motorcycle riding, reading and going on Sunday rides.

John is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; children, Denny (Carol) Underwood, Kami (Quentin) Jackson and Jeff (Blair) Underwood; siblings, Geri (Gene) Mondragon, Bill (Sandy) Underwood, Paul (Laurie) Underwood, Kathy (Fred) Gillett, Frank (Kathy) Underwood, Theresa (Randy) Backman and 7 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Colonel and LaNora; grandmother, Katherine Oliver and little brother, Joey Underwood.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 18, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Sunday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park
