

Ken was born on November 24, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alma Earnest Austin and June Josephine Wilde. Ken grew up in the Poplar Grove area in Salt Lake City. He enjoyed spending time working on his grandpa’s farm in Minkcreek, Idaho. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He spent time in the Boy Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout. After graduating from West High School in Salt Lake City, he served a Spanish speaking mission in New York for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
On February 14, 1975 he was sealed for time and all eternity to his beloved wife, Linda Pearl Jackman, in the Salt Lake temple. They settled in the Poplar Grove area of Salt Lake City and raised their family: Jason, Viki (Radford) white, Catherine (Travis) McDaniel, Scott (Megan), Lorne (Jessica), and Robert. They are the proud grandparents of 11 grandchildren: Dakota Austin, Scott Austin Jr., Bradley Austin, June Austin, Ethan Austin, Liam Austin, Chloe Austin, Joseph White, Levi White, Shaun White, and Richard White.
Ken worked at The University of Utah in housing before securing a job with Eimco Water/Ovivo. He worked there for 40 years before retiring. Ken worked hard and tirelessly to the end to take care of his family. He served in many positions in the Church as Scout Master, Teacher, and in the High Priest Group.
Ken will be remembered for his happy smile and kind nature, love of old-time country music, John Wayne movies and Utah Football.
Ken is survived by his wife: Linda; six children; two daughters-in-law; a son-in-law; eleven grandkids; brother: Michael Austin; and sister: Patricia Simpson.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents: Alma and June; brother: Richard; and son-in-law: Radford.
