Lois M Cox

She was born July 10, 1925 in Prairie View, Kansas to Dewey and Tommie Maye (Cate) DeBoer.

Lois graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1943. While in high school she participated in singing competitions and also did dramatic readings.

Lois married Lyle Cox on July 22, 1943 and they were blessed with four children.

She loved music, loved to sing, whistle and dance. She loved animals, especially cats. Above all else she loved her family.

Lois is survived by her sons, Douglas of Englewood, CO, Joseph (Linda) of Alliance, NE, grandchildren, Susan Cox of HI, Brandon and Brian of Englewood, CO, Kelly (Hannah) of Englewood, Damon of UT, Jason of Broomfield, Jessica Vigos of Salt Lake City, UT and Roxanne Vigos (Derek Fonnesbeck of Ogden, UT and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Billie Jean Westerman of Social Circle, GA, and Nancy Joan Reinhart of IA, her sisters-in-law, Carol DeBoer of CO and Gayle Shattuck of KS and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s parents, Eli and Stella Cox, her husband, her son, Michael Loyd and her daughter, Debra Louise; her grandchildren, Rebecca Cox and Mickey Cox, her brothers, Melvin DeBoer and Dick Shattuck and brother-in-law, Max Westerman.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 W. 4100 So. The family will receive friends at a visitation Monday morning from 9:45 until 10:45 prior to the service. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park
