Martha Ann Hasson departed this world on May 12th, 2024. She had battled Dementia/Alzheimer's, leaving behind a legacy as intricate as her existence. Born on February 22, 1938, she embarked on a journey through life marked by joyous triumphs and formidable challenges.
Martha was always generous and kind. She never passed up a needy person on the street. She tried to give her children and grandchildren the things she missed in her childhood. Martha was a wiz at numbers and embarked on a career working as an accountant for 30 years at Mountain Bell, the local phone company, where she was able to form great friendships that had a profound impact on her life. She was central to the family. They would be the first to admit that when she walked into a casino, she had the biggest smile on her face and was in her happy place.
Martha is survived by her son, Dan (Trinity); daughters, Tania (Steve) and Cindy (Clay); grandchildren, Cody (Brittni), Chase, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Gage, Wyatt, and Bailey. Their lives were forever touched by her presence, each holding a unique remembrance of her essence. Martha’s legacy extends beyond the boundaries of earthly existence, as she is reunited in peace with those who have gone before her. Among those who preceded her were her husband, Ralph, daughter Denise, parents Jack and Clara, and brothers Tompie, Babe, Jimmy, and Larry.
A private graveside memorial with the family will be held on Saturday, May 18th, at Valley View Memorial Park. In place of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
