Mona believed in the Christian faith and enjoyed watching and listening to Jimmy Swaggart. As a timid, yet strong mother, she raised her 4 boys and her only daughter alone, close to quite the impossible task. She worked very hard caring for the ill as a CNA in her middle years during a graveyard shift at St. Joseph Villa to raise her children.
Later in life she battled complications from a pituitary tumor and spent her retirement years playing Pogo online games, loved visiting with her children and friends, tending to at times 20 cats and kittens, enjoying only the best cups of coffee, and occasional trips to Wendover. You will be with us forever mom, we love you deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Leola Braithwaite, Sharon Hayden, sister, husband John Stevens and late husband Donald Wallace Carter. She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Clark (Jared Draper) and 4 sons: Evan Stevens, Jason (Michelle) Stevens, Alexander Stevens, and Nicholas (Julie) Stevens, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Also survived by her siblings Ranae Madsen (Ben Bullough), Rodney Braithwaite, Marty Rymer and her niece Tammy Rymer, and numerous other loved nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday March 25th, at 2 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley, Utah. The family would like to express thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Canyon Homecare and Hospice.
