Randall J Patrick, 68, of West Valley City, UT, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, whose warmth and wisdom touched the lives of many, passed away on September 1, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy rich with kindness, dedication, and quiet strength. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate a life that was lived with purpose, generosity, and love.
Randy was born in Murray, UT to Harold Patrick and Joann Highland on October 29,1956.
A Cyprus High School alumni, he grew up in Magna, UT where he also met and married Chris J Trujillo.
Randy was very proud of his Irish heritage, his beautiful family, and his career at Rio Tinto where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid listener of 70’s rock and roll, a die-hard fan of the Minnesota Vikings, and loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He found his greatest joy in being a wonderful father and grandfather but most of all in being with the love of his life, Chris, whom he was married to for 47 years.
Randy was a true friend, steadfast and loyal. His friendships were characterized by mutual respect, heartfelt conversations, and unwavering support. Those who knew him best speak of his ability to lift spirits with a well-timed joke or a reassuring word, and of the many times he went out of his way to help someone in need.
As a partner, Randy was devoted and caring, cultivating a relationship built on trust, love, and shared dreams. To his children, he was a guiding light—a source of wisdom, comfort, and encouragement. He took pride in their accomplishments and guided them with gentle advice, always urging them to pursue happiness and integrity.
Randy is survived by his wife, Chris Patrick, his children, Charles Patrick, Winston Patrick, Sara Brennan, Nicholas Patrick, his grandchildren, Demetrius Patrick and Averie Brennan, and his brother Brad Patrick.
Randy’s children were his pride and joy and his heart was overfilled with love for his grandbabies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Mike and Curtis, and his dear friend Herman Candelario.
Let us carry forward Randy’s legacy, inspired by his example and comforted by the knowledge that a life well-lived never truly ends.
