Sandra Joan Young Montano, our beloved mother and grandmother passed away in her home Friday morning September 20th with her loving husband Tony by her side. She was born on December 26, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio daughter of LT Colonel Douglas Young and Joan Durham. Sandy grew up as an air force brat, living in TX and PR until moving to Utah at the age of 16 where she graduated from West High and then attended Weber State College. She met her life long sweetheart while working at LDS Hospital, Robert Tony Montano. They were married on September 20, 1969 and her passing fell on the day of their 44 year anniversary. Her husband, children and grandchildren meant the world to her.
Sandy is survived by her Daughter Dione Montano, and her children Taylor and Shelbee Barrett and her son Paul Montano (Camille) and their boys Alec and Noah Montano.
Preceded in death by her parents and survived by her siblings Bob and Larry Young. Special thanks to her lifelong friends Karen Mayne and Chris Pearson whom she loved dearly.
Family and friends are invited to an open house where a light dinner and remembrance will be held for Sandy on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Valley View Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley, Utah.
