Steve was born on August 8, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Victor and Betty Christiansen. He graduated from Granite High School, where he excelled in wrestling. He then completed two years at the University of Utah. Steve married in 1973 and had two children. Steve later divorced, then married Cristine (Cris) Lorraine Slater in 2002. They spent 31 wonderful years together.
Steve retired after a successful 32-year career as a Service Technician with Questar Gas Company.
He worked hard so he could play hard! He loved a good barbecue, a cold beer, and being surrounded by his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed golfing, watching baseball and football, and could always be found cheering on his Utes!
An avid outdoorsman, Steve created his most cherished memories camping, fishing, and hunting with his family. He was always the one to catch the most fish and never came home empty-handed from his bird or deer hunts.
He was truly the life of the party—quick with a jingle for any situation and known for his unforgettable one-liners. He was as stubborn as they come, but he loved deeply. We miss and love him beyond measure!
Steve is survived by his wife, Cris; his children, Jason (April) Christiansen, Chaarie (Geno) Jaramillo; a stepdaughter, Jamie Allen; ten grandchildren—Preston, Elisa, Zaylie, Zackry, Zenadie, Brittany, Ashlyn, Kamryn, Collin, and Zach; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Cydney (David) Hoffmann; and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Betty.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the COPD Foundation. https://www.copdfoundation.org/Ways-to-Give/Donate/Donate-Now.aspx
