I am one the the great-grand children! Grammy was the most caring, kind-hearted, beautiful person you could ever meet! I remember Grammy would never leave the house without her pink lipstick! She always had it in her purse with her just in case she needed to reapply. I love you Grammy!!!

As your precious mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend soars  in her heavenly home, know how proud she is of all of you. Seeing all the love that abounded at her service and reception is a strong reflection of a life-well lived, with Jesus at the center of it all. 
I'm so grateful and honored to have known her, and be a part of such an exquisite send-off for this beautiful daughter of Christ. 
Thank you to my dearest Christal and all the family for letting me be a part of this special and blessed day.

Ann was my second Mom. All us  kids grew up together since we were born. Tom and my Dad were in the service together. I remember my Mom, Ann and  Sondra and all the kids we’d get together for lunch often. Sandwiches and swim in our dough boy pools. We had so much fun. All our families got together for July 4. The past recent years I’ve not gotten to spend time like I would have wanted to but with living further away it seem to not happen. But I have a lot of precious memories and family movies. God bless you all. ❤️🙏🏻

Mrs. Blackburn, Ann, Mom, Auntie Ann, Gramma, Grammy - these  are all used to describe Ann Blackburn.  I am Ann’s daughter and I called her “Mommy”.  My Mom was sweet, kind, loving, strong and caring.  She was a prayer warrior.  Always praying for her family, her friends, her church, her country.  

She was in the women’s club at church, she loved working in Bible School, she sang in the choir.  She attended all of our back-to-school nights (there were four us), our Sunday School and school programs, and was quite the bowler!  And when my three brothers and I had been throwing mud & dirt clods at each other, she always had the four of us all cleaned up when my Dad got home from work each day.

Mom was a baker, a chef, a “counselor” (for us) and a banker.  On Thursdays she gave my brothers and I each a quarter for lunch so we could eat in the school cafeteria on “hamburger day”.

The past few years Mom was a dialysis patient.  For three days every week she went to dialysis.  Mom had other health issues and this past December after being in the hospital, she made her decision to stop dialysis and come home on hospice care and spend her last days with her family.  My Mom was so selfless, always thinking of others before herself.  The day she came home from the hospital I knew how brave my Mom was.  The greatest treasure I was given was to help my sister-in-law, Carmen, care for our Mom the last two weeks of her life.  All Mom kept telling us was that she was “ready and wanted to go see Jesus”.

I can’t put into words how much I admired my Mom.

Mom’s  grandchildren always told her she was an Angel to which she would reply, “I know.”

 I love you Mommy and miss you “terrible” but you are finally with Jesus.  I’m looking forward to seeing you again and the pair of Angel wings God gave you.


I did not know this beautiful lady personally, but her beautiful daughter Cristal is one of my dearest friends. This amazing lady .raised a wonderful daughter and that says so much about her. I know in this time of grief and sorrow, it's hard. But just remember this- She is now soaring with the Angels. 

ANN WAS MY BEST FRIEND FOR 57 YEARS.  When I did the bulletin for Westminster Brethren Church 60 years ago, I would have Ann proof read it before I ran it off.   She would tell me I “ruined her reading things” because she’d always be looking for mistakes!

I remember the daily bicycle trips to the grocery store that you sent me on to get the necessary food items for the day. Gathering as a family for the evening meal was an everyday occurrence. It gave us the opportunity to discuss everyone's day. It was also the time where Dad found out if any of us had caused Mom any trouble while he was at work. Although we weren't excited about being disciplined, Dad and Mom molded us into the people we are today.

I came to understand what a Proverbs 31 woman you were, Mom. Always giving of yourself - shopping, cooking, mending, counseling, disciplining, budgeting, etc. I remember the trips to the clothing store before each school year began. The three (3) boys received a new pair of blue jeans, a couple of T-shirts, and Van's tennis shoes. The knees in the jeans didn't last long before we had major tears in them, but you made them last longer by sewing patches over the holes and we were good to go a while longer.

You loved God, your church, and those you worshiped with. You gave all four (4) of us the spiritual foundation we needed to realize how important God is in our own daily lives.

We know you struggled through years of dialysis treatments, muliple times a week, that constantly drained your energy. The hospice care at home was truely a blessing. Your entire family had the opportunity for a quality visit with you. Thank you to our two angels, Carmen and Christal, for your round-the-clock care of Mom and all the personal attention and love you gave her. And thank you, Harold, for your patience and support during those valuaeble two weeks at home.

In the end, we know how ready you were to meet Jesus because there wasn't a day that went by that you said you were ready to go see Him. You even insisted that you have your favorite lipstick applied each night in case that was the night you woke up in His presence. Save a place for us, Mom. We love you!

It has been a blessing to have been able to handle your affairs for the last couple of years!  Meeting weekly on Tuesday mornings has always been busy, sometimes difficult, always in fun and always a blessing to me.
