

Anna Mae Michiko Tagomori, beloved mother, wife, and cherished friend, passed away on May 18, 2025, in Anaheim, California. Born on February 4, 1937, in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii, Anna Mae lived a life marked by love, strength, and dedication.
A graduate of Castle High School, Anna Mae met her lifelong partner, Roy Tagomori, at a gathering of fellow Hawaiians at Griffith Park. Their love story was one of persistence and devotion, with Roy following her around until she finally relented, beginning a beautiful journey together.
Anna Mae’s career was distinguished by her role as an assistant manager and bookkeeper at Ralphs grocery, where her hardworking nature and attention to detail were well respected. She was an incredible cook whose meals brought warmth and joy to family and friends. Known for her hearty laugh, handyman skills around the house, and loving spirit, she was a pillar of strength and independence.
She is survived by her three children: Gene Tagomori, Deanna Harnby Tagomori, and Brian Tagomori. Anna Mae’s legacy lives on through her family and all who had the privilege to know her. Her passions included cooking, gardening, and painting, all of which reflected her vibrant and caring personality.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by her brother, Rodney M. Anamizu, her father, Alfred Anamizu, and her mother, Tatsue Janet Sowles.
A service to celebrate Anna Mae’s life will be held at Westminster Memorial Park Carolina Chapel, with interment to follow at Westminster Memorial Park Garden of Peaceful Eternity.
Anna Mae Michiko Tagomori will be remembered as an independent, strong, loving, and resilient woman whose impact on those around her will never be forgotten.
