Bonnie Rachel Johnson

Bonnie Rachel Johnson was born on September 28, 1932 to James Rayborn Anderson and Stella Marie Anderson. She was the sixth of eight children 4 boys and 4 girls; Clarence, Ralph, Harold, Elsie, Helen, Rachel, Pauline and Paul. Their cousin Beverly was also raised with them.

She was born in Old Mesilla, New Mexico. The family settled in Shafter, California outside of Bakersfield. The family attended the First Baptist Church of Shafter, where she met her future husband, Phil. She went to Rio Bravo Elementary, Shafter High and 2 years at Biola.

Phil and Rachel were married on November 20, 1960 at the First Baptist Church. They have 3 children Norma, Mark and Brian and 7 grandchildren; Justin, Taylor, Amber, Tanner, Katherine, Hannah and Larissa. Their children married Allen Riley, Laura Johnson and Cyndi Johnson.

Phil and Rachel lived all over California and settled in Huntington Beach in 1972 where Phil still resides.

They have been members of Grace Bible Church (formally Nutwood St Baptist Church) of Garden Grove since 1973.

Bonnie Rachel passed away on September 26, 2010 in Huntington Beach, California. A visitation will be held for her on Monday, October 4, 2010 from 5pm - 8pm at Westminster Mortuary and a Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 12:00pm at Westminster Mortuary Main Chapel with a graveside following.
