Chris was born on March 28th to Ellie and Irv Flood in Monrovia, CA. He worked in Sales his entire life selling everything from shoes, cars, boats, houses, and igloos to Eskimos. He won countless awards for his excellent salesmanship throughout the years in various fields. In 1980, his son Corey was born.
Chris loved the ocean and water in general, working to spend as much time as possible cruising the river trails on his bike or watching the surf come in. He also loved surfing, and while age made it difficult in later years, he spent countless hours catching the waves in Huntington Beach. His other passion was cars. Whether it was watching them race around a track or bask in the sunlight at a car show, he wanted to be there. He also had an odd penchant for attracting local wildlife to him that was truly remarkable. Whether it was a butterfly landing on his finger, or the local celebrity, Buddy the bird, certain animals loved spending time with Chris.
Chris was preceded in death by his sister Barbara, and his father Irven. He is survived by his mother, Ellie, his sister Sheri, his son Corey, his grandson Jameson, and his aunt, uncle, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 29th at Westminster Memorial Park and Mortuary, 14801 Beach Blvd, Westminster, CA 92683, at the Main Chapel. Viewing will begin at 1:30 pm, and the service will start at 2:30pm. Flowers and/or memorial contributions to the Surfrider Foundation are equally welcome.
