Miss Heckeroth was my 8th grade Social Studies teacher in Kingston, NY. It was because of her that I went into teaching and retired after 43 years! She was so nice and so cool! She drove a tan Volkswagon Beetle convertible. I connected with her on Facebook years ago and had a wonderful conversation with her. I looked her up again to find she had passed.  Because of her kindness and love for her students, I wanted to be just like her and so I also went into teaching. I remember her freckles and her hair was the same style but shoulder-length. Rip, Edith... and thank you...
