

Gerald Frederick Mansfield passed away on May 11, 2025, in Los Alamitos, California, at the age of 77. Born on March 21, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa, Gerald lived a life marked by curiosity, kindness, and unwavering integrity.
Gerald pursued his education at Fullerton Junior College and Fort Hays State College, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts. He applied his talents and work ethic across several professions, including as a draftsman, an automated systems technician, and an appliance repair technician. A true hands-on thinker, he enjoyed building, tinkering, and exploring how things worked.
Throughout his life, Gerald valued honesty and philanthropy above all. He believed these were the most important traits a person could possess, and he lived by them every day. He had a deep love of learning and sought out knowledge wherever he could find it, always striving to grow and better understand the world around him.
Gerald was married three times and is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Lois Y. Mansfield, whom he met through mail correspondence—a unique beginning to a meaningful partnership. He is also survived by his four children: daughters Melissa Mansfield and Dawn Frawley, and sons Gerald Mansfield and Chris Mansfield. He leaves behind his brother, Darrell Mansfield, as well.
Known for his honesty, intelligence, and protective nature, Gerald was a loving presence in the lives of his family and friends. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, thoughtful spirit, and dedication to those he loved.
An interment service will be held on May 29, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Westminster Memorial Park Cremation Garden, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a life well-lived.
