She was a remarkable mother and a loving wife. She was born in Cuba on June 6, 1936 in Palma Soriano.
At the age of fifteen she met her new neighbor, Faustino, and they began their beautiful love story. Five years later they got married on May 4th, 1956, and they celebrated sixty-six years of marriage.
Through that incredible love they were blessed with five children; Geronimo, Marta, Carlos, Jane and Anthony. She’s also survived by nine grandchildren; Lucho, Magic, Marilu, Michael, Marielle, Jordon, Elena, Joseph and Christopher, and three great-granddaughters; Amelia, Lucy and Josephine.
She dedicated her life to her family and always said we were her greatest blessing. She loved every single one of us and was infinitely proud of her family. She exemplified compassion and sacrifice throughout her life to support us. As children we did not have much, but she taught us to practice generosity and gratitude no matter the circumstances. We are so blessed by the life my parents provided for us.
She will be missed dearly, especially at our family parties in her shining gold sequins. She dressed as she lived, loud, energetic, and charismatic. She loved to laugh, eat, dance, and play games with all of us. Her vivacious and passionate nature is a staple of our culture that she also blessed us with and will carry on in all of us. We love you mom.
