It's been 4 lonely years since you've been gone . You are so 
missed by everyone. I think of you everyday. Your picture is

I remember the day you wore the long sleeve crushed velvet blue and red shirt I had gotten you from K-Mart.

I can not believe he is dead, he had a huge impact on my life of which I will never forget and in no way prepared for.  Rip Jack.

I had no idea that Jack was gone until just now, when I thought I’d look him up to see how he was doing. 

I represented Jack on a civil case around 16 years ago. He was my favorite client! Such a kind soul. I’d mentioned that my mom was a big baseball fan but was now wheelchair bound and seriously ill. Jack arranged for her to have a great “seat” at a pivotal Yankees game with a fantastic view of the action. She never stopped taking about it. That’s the kind of man he was. I’m so sad that he has passed on but if there’s any justice, it will be to a wonderful afterlife.

I hope your life together in our home at Town and Country was filled with many beautiful memories. I was too young to remember our home. But, it was filled with many memories from what I heard from my sisters.
I was at an Angels game when you were sponsors. I so wish I could've seen you.

Dear Peggy,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your devoted and loving husband, Jack.  I will always remember his warm smile and friendship which he warmly extended to me and my family while we lived on Royal Palm and were neighbors back in the 1970s and early ‘80s. On my youngest child’s birthday, he generously gave Melanie a $10 bill to match her 10th birthday, which was a delightful thing to do.!!!  She remembers this fondly to this very day !  You were a beautiful couple !!!

Its never easy losing the ones we love. However. As loss in this world happens. We have a hope that our loved ones are rejoicing in heaven together in one accord and one day we will join them in they're rejoicing. And rejoice together forever. The only things that matter in life is to love, be loved, and love one another. This kind of advise is what made Jack Hanshaw Sr so great for all of us. Thank you grandpa Jack for the times we played backgammon or just hangin' out. Give a man a fish, he'll be full for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll be full for a lifetime.

More  than an Uncle, you were s second Dad, mentor and most of all my friend. I always knew you were there, and you walked through life with me from the moment I was born. I will miss your beautiful smile, positive attitude, singing with you, angel games,  family gatherings and celebrations, but I know you are in your new mansion celebrating in Heaven. 

You were  truly the most kind,loving, giving  person I have ever known. You were a gift  to all who were blessed to be in your family and circle of friends.

Uncle Jack, 
When we would get together for multiple Family parties at his house, he always greeted me with the biggest hug and smile and would sing my Sherie amore song. I remember the high dive, trips to Idyllwild, Catalina weekends and ski trips to Snow Mass. So many memories and fun times. Its hard to believe I wont get anymore special hugs.

My wife Jan and I, were saddened to hear about the passing of our friend Jack Hanshaw. When I started Bank of Westminster he was very involved with accomplishing the vision and success of our bank. We both have many fond memories of him and his family, and we know he was deeply loved in his life. As my wife and I continue to get older, we remember all the good times we shared. The prayers of the Tomko family are with the entire Hanshaw family during this time.

It was an honor to call Jack Hanshaw my Great Uncle Jack. He was a true icon of Orange County as a successful businessman and an icon of the Hanshaw/Sammons family. I have great respect for Uncle Jack and his American success story. And as a Sammon's grandchild, our family owes a great deal of gratitude to Uncle Jack as none of the Sammons Grandchildren would be around without Uncle Jack. Uncle Jack was a big reason for Nana Pat and Papa John moving out to Orange County in the first place. 

I have many great memories of Jack from when I was a young boy to a grown man. As many of our family members can remember, there were several family parties held at Uncle Jack and Aunt Peggy's house. I remember having so much fun playing horseshoes and billiards with Uncle Jack. I felt like a grown up even though I couldn't have been more than ten years old. I remember Uncle Jack teaching me the true meaning of cabbage. But most of all, I loved spending time with Uncle Jack and my Papa at Angel games. Uncle Jack used to tell me that his seats were the best baseball seats of all MLB stadiums. These games were a true childhood memory that I will never forget. 

Rest easy Uncle Jack. The Sammons family misses you and loves you. 

My Papa Jack,

Growing up as a kid, there are special memories to keep at heart.  Visiting the house for Christmas and playing in the backyard, feeding pellets to the koi fish, hitting tennis balls, the high-dive, it was like a gigantic playground.  Knocking on the door, his big smile and I always remember him having a solid proper posture and dressed nice, shirt tucked in.  I didn’t live around the corner after I grew older and moved to AZ, I wasn’t able to see my grandparents as much as I wanted to but still visited and kept in touch.  He was a generous man and I enjoyed having more professional and business oriented conversations with him as I got older.  Advice he has given that did not go into one ear and out the other has helped me.  I will NEVER FORGET my 1985 CJ7 Jeep Laredo for my first car.  It was hands-down the most awesome Jeep ever made with more chrome than metal, I put a system in it and I have not seen anything else like it on the road since.  However, I was also able gave him something as well.  Something money cannot buy – his Great Granddaughter Adrianna Hanshaw.  Watching him hug her for the first time was a memorable experience for my wife Melissa and I.  It brought out a different side of him that we have not seen before.  When he looked at me while he was holding her, I could tell he was proud of me.  I did not have a chance to say goodbye as I would have liked but I will remember my Papa Jack from when he was in good health.  I’ll see you on the flip-side and when the time comes,  I'll have some bread from Woody’s, because “Hanshaw’s only eat the ends”.

Jack Hanshaw was my grandfather and I was his youngest grandson. I loved  him very much and looked up to him and his knowledge.  and whenever he saw me he always greeted me with a gigantic hug and smile .   Then he always proceed to measure my biceps and my neck. that’s the one thing that him and I had in common that no one else did.  was our love for lifting weights and always improving our physique.  Keep lifting those weights Papa I’ll see you soon. 

My Dearest Uncle Jack, I am so devastated over your passing.. It's like a nightmare I can't wake up from. You and my dad, Kie Vance, were  best friends since childhood growing up in West Virginia.  You have always been in my life since I was a little girl. Your were always a second dad to me. and were always there for my family. You were the kindest, most loving human being I have had the pleasure to have in my life. I know you are with Dad right now looking down on us and I try to find comfort in that. I know its been a while since I saw you  last,  but you were always in touch! I will miss our talks, and the memories we have shared will always have a special place in my heart. My deepest condolences to your beautiful Peggy, your children,  your grandchildren and all the people who you have made their life better just for being in it. I Love You Eternally

A fine generous man who served on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Westminster with me, and other community leaders in Westminister CA. 
His input was dynamic and contributed to the success of the Bank. My sympathies to Peggy and the rest of the family at this difficult time. Celebrate 
Jack and his many contributions to his fellow man. 


My father was friends with Jack.   During my high school years in the 1980s,  my father, Jack, and I  went to almost every single home Ram football game between 83-87.  We also went to 2 Superbowl games.  Jack was extremely kind and he had a very caring spirit.  He always asked me how I was doing and seemed to take a very keen interest in what I was up to.  The last time I saw Jack was when my father got remarried in the early 2000's.    Jack, I know you are in heaven cheering on the home team.    You will be missed.  

Going to miss my grandfather.  He was a very smart man. Love you grandpa. Tell Great Grandma I love her.
