

Laura Mae Harrison (Newbre), age 95, peacefully passed from her home in this world in Los Alamitos, CA to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, March 15, 2014. Laura was born in Towner, ND, on August 19, 1918, and was one of four children born to the proud parents, Guy H. Newbre and Julia Ann Newbre (Keasling).
At a very young age Laura moved with her parents to Willowbrook, CA, where she grew up and later moved to Compton, CA, and then to Los Alamitos, CA. Laura is a graduate of both Compton High School and Compton College. She was preceded in “Crossing The Creek” by her beloved husband, James W. Harrison, who was her wonderful husband during their 67 years of life together.
Laura retired from the City of Westminster in 1973, where she was Secretary and Administrative Assistant to the Director of Public Works.
She is survived by her three children, Florence Joy Verbeck (Harrison) and her husband Ray, James Guy Harrison and his wife Jane, and Gay Lee Myers (Harrison).
She was the proud and loving grandmother of (8) Grand Children: Bradley Stephen Taufer, Robin Lynn Taufer, Craig Alan Taufer, Cynthia Lee Byrne, Kimberly Diane Fragoso (Harrison), Lori Jean Gamboa (Harrison) and her husband Steve, Richard Paul Ewbank and his wife Melissa, Michelle Denise Rosenthal (Myers) and her husband Eric. (11) Great Grand Children: Liz Jimenez, Johnny Taufer, Cheri Joy Taufer, Amy Joanne (Taufer) Diamond, Kyle James Fragoso, Rachel Nicole Fragoso, Steve Ray Gamboa Jr. and his wife Dina, Michael Anthony Gamboa, Jacob Mario Gamboa, Mason James Ewbank and Jaydin Richelle Rosenthal, and (2) Great Great Grand Children: Dina Gamboa and Josiah Gamboa
Memorial Service and Graveside Service will be held Friday, March 21, 2014, at 1200 Noon at: Westminster Memorial Park & Mortuary. 14801 Beach Blvd. Westminster, CA, 92683.
