Tina Marie Song

Mrs. Tina Marie Song, of Huntington Beach, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15th at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, CA surrounded by close family members. She passed away due to liver failure after recent illnesses. Tina was 52 years old. She is survived by her husband, Todd, son, Tyler, and daughter, Tani.

Tina was born May 1, 1962 in Montebello, CA to Robert and Adele Segura. She was the first of three children, followed by her sister, Teri, and brother, Rob. Most of her youth was spent growing up in Santa Fe Springs, CA. During her teen years, she was very athletic. She always participated in basketball and her true liking was track and field. Tina graduated from Santa Fe Springs High School in 1980. Since she was a hard worker, she never had a problem finding a job because she also loved meeting and working with new people. Tina was very outgoing and full of life which made making new friends easy for her.

Family was very important to Tina. Her children, Tyler and Tani, were her “every heart beat”, as she would always say. She really enjoyed planning and hosting parties for holidays, birthdays and other occasions. It was important to her that her family was all together and no one was left alone. She loved to invite her nieces and nephews over for swim parties and sleepovers. She also loved her pets --- her dog, Truman, and her two cats Trixie and Tula. Whenever someone in the family had a problem, Tina was the “fixer”. She was never shy about giving her opinion and telling you how to handle the problem.

Another important part of her life was the work she did as a teacher’s aide at John H. Eader Elementary School in Huntington Beach. She had a passion for working with children with learning disabilities and special needs. She loved the children and the people that she worked with and she truly loved her job.

Please join us to help celebrate her life at the memorial service on Monday, June 23rd, 2014 at 5:00 pm at Westminster Memorial Park Mortuary in the Main Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for honoring her memory by donating to John H. Eader Elementary’s Special Education classes.
