Vera Fleek

Services celebrating her life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Bay Shore Congregational Church, 5100 The Toledo, Long Beach, CA. A graveside service and committal will immediately follow in Westminster Memorial Park.

Vera was born on October 5, 1913 in Gansville, LA. She was one of ten children and lived on a farm. Vera became a teacher and taught a total of 36 years. She moved to California during the war and met the love of her life, Fred Allen Fleek. They were married at Bay Shore Congregational Church in Long Beach where they were active and involved for many years before moving to Spring, TX. She loved the Lord, her family and her friends.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Fred Fleek; parents, Walter and Pearl Pine; 5 brothers, Earl Pine, Cecil Pine, Archie Pine, Glenn Pine and Jack Pine; and 2 sisters, JoAnna Pine Jones and Martha Raye Pine Kelley. She is survived by her daugher, Sally Jo Fleek Brega and husband, Rick Brega of Spring, TX; grandson Scott Brega and wife, Melanie, of Huntsville, TX; grandson Eddie Brega and wife, Melissa, of Spring, TX; 4 great-grandchildren, Adam Hunsaker, Zachary Brega, Kincade Brega, and Sophia Brega; 2 sisters, Aubie Kreusel and Mary Antilley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bay Shore Congregational Church, 5100 The Toledo, Long Beach, CA 90803.
