Alf grew up on the family farm at Ogema, Saskatchewan. He moved to Regina where he met the love of his life, Nola Prentice, and they got married in 1962. Their daughter Terri was born in 1964. Alf always wanted to return to Ogema to farm, so in 1965 they built a home on land next to the Leonard farm.
Curtis was born in 1967. Alf drove the school bus for many years and was an important fixture in the community. He loved all sports from fast ball and curling to golf and hockey. He had a large social circle and was a regular on coffee row. Music became a passion later in his life. He could play almost any instrument, but his favourite was the guitar. He was a member of a band called the RY Ramblers and loved playing at jam sessions, dances, Ogema fair days, museum days and retirement homes. Alf was a long time member of The Odd Fellows.
Terri married Glenn Campbell in 1991 and they had 3 daughters, Katharine, Madeline and Amy. He and Nola loved their granddaughters dearly and made it out to Calgary for every dance recital, school play, choir performance and horse show. He loved their partners Christopher, Cody and Steven as well as his great grandchildren Fynn and Jace.
Alf is predeceased by his parents, John and Lillian Leonard and son Curtis Leonard.
He is survived by his wife, Nola Leonard; daughter, Terri (Glenn) Campbell; granddaughters, Katharine (Christopher) Payne and their sons, Fynn and Jace; Madeline (Cody) Brown, and Amy Campbell (Steven Orechow); brother, John (Bernice) Leonard as well as a large extended family.
