Eileen Germaine Mazenc

Eileen was born and raised on the family farm near Radville and spent her entire life in the area. She attended Alstine School in the country and St. Oliver in later years. She married George on October 28th, 1947.

Eileen was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, George Mazenc; parents, Rachel and Rene Fossenier; in-laws, Louis and Angele Mazenc; sisters, Marguerite Dufresne and Patricia Imes; infant grandson, Colin Gerle; brothers-in-law, John Mazenc, Peter Bourassa & Leo Dufresne; sisters-in-law, Germaine Bourassa & Eva Mazenc and son-in-law, Floyd Baufeld.

Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her children: Constance Baufeld of Whitehorse, YT; Paulette Mazenc (Trevor Rock) of Regina, SK; David (Melany) Mazenc of Radville, SK; Emile (Rose Marie) Mazenc of Radville, SK; Randy (Janine) Mazenc of Radville, SK; 18 grandchildren: Adam, Jason (Danielle), Blaine, Cabral (Stacy), Kellen, Peyson, Sabryn (Paul), Erin (Riley), Kalen (Amanda), Dane (Jodi), Meghan (Scott), Regan, Laura (Chad), Craig (Sarah), Katherine, Danielle (Joshua), Taylor (Tina) and Natasha (Malcolm); 20 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ronald Imes and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen was the epitome of the strong prairie women who worked hard and raised their families, tended gardens, supported the farm work and contributed to their communities. In later years, she and George were fortunate to enjoy many winters in Arizona and travelling all over in their motorhome. Eileen enjoyed reading, quilting, crocheting and knitting. She loved prairie skies, spring crocuses (which George gathered for her every spring), the color blue, and above all, her family. She was a quiet and gentle woman who was the heart of our family.

Thank you to the staff at the Radville Marian Health Centre where Eileen resided since George's death in 2020 for the wonderful care provided to her.

A Graveside Service & Interment will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Radville~Laurier Cemetery, Radville, Saskatchewan with Father Hyacinth Okafor officiating.
