George Bernard Dreher

It is with heavy hearts that we announce George’s sudden passing.

George was born Aug 2nd 1936, and passed away April 3rd 2021 at the age of 84 years.

A devoted Father, Grandfather and Poppa who is remembered by his loving wife Rita Dreher of 60 years, Tyvan, SK; son, Randy (Denise) Dreher of Regina, SK and children, Dayna and fiancée (Mac McGinn), Kaycee (Drew Barss); daughter, Brenda (Scott) Grieve of Fillmore, SK and children, Mandy (Pete) Treble and Melissa (Ben)Woodward; son, Kevin Dreher (Cheryl Holt) of Regina, SK; daughter, Kathy Dreher (Darren Lezon) of Regina, SK; great grandchildren: Zaida, Kinley and Hadley Woodward, and Brenner and Aiden Treble; 2 sisters, 5 brothers as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

George came from a large family of 20 of which he was very proud of, and he will be sadly missed by so many.

George was predeceased by his parents, George Sr & Helen Dreher; in-laws, John & Elizabeth Branconnier; 7 brothers and 5 sisters.

A Private Family Mass of Christian Burial is planned to celebrate George’s life at the St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Francis, Saskatchewan on Friday, April 9th, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Louis Abello celebrating. Interment will follow in the Francis Cemetery, Francis, Saskatchewan.

In accordance with Provincial guidelines regarding Covid-19 protocols, we are permitted no more than 30 attendees at the service. To join our livestream service please log in to Fletcher Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services Facebook page just prior to the start time.

In lieu of flowers, any donations in memory of George can be made to Stars Air Ambulance or the charity of your choice.

A HEART OF GOLD

A heart of gold stopped beating, working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither, The golden sun may set But the hearts that loved you dearly are the ones that won’t forget.

I’ll always remember George’s sense of humor. He kept everyone entertained with his stories . He made “ head cheese “ which he shared with Clay and I. He was a heck of a good polka dancer too. Now he and Clay can visit in heaven !
