

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 72 years, Adrienne Bourassa of Radville, SK; children, Rita (Leon) Schutte of Medicine Hat, AB, Jeanne Bourassa of Edmonton, AB and Randy (Penny) Bourassa, Radville, SK; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; brother, Maurice (Sophie); sisters, Yvonne, Jeanette (Emilian), Marie Emma (Real) as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bourassa, Henry late of Radville, Saskatchewan, passed away October 6, 2012 at the age of 98 years. Henry was the oldest of sixteen children born to Charles and Marie Bourassa, on October 7, 1913. As a young man he worked for various farmers in Souris Valley and Collette community. He had rented a house in the Collette district for a few years, until the 1940’s when he purchased a farm 2 ½ miles east of Radville, SK where he resided until his retirement. He thoroughly enjoyed working his land, and was a self taught farmer and musician. Henry started small and became very successful in mixed farming until his retirement in is 70’s. He also worked as a backhoe operator, owning his own equipment, and did custom combining to help others. He was a dedicated and committed worker. Henry enjoyed playing fiddle, accordion and organ as well as games such as horse shoes, cards, and in his later years playing “smear” at the senior’s center. He truly treasured the companionship of his friends and neighbours. Henry was active in both his church and community. He drove the school snow mobile for several years for the school board. In his youth he served as an altar boy, and later he would play the organ and sing in church as he attended regularly. Henry loved unconditionally; he was a very caring and forgiving person with strong family ties. He loved to tease and had a wonderful sense of humour. Henry will be remembered as a man with determination, courage, and patience; he will be dearly missed.
