Mary Koch

Mary (Patterson) Koch, late of Weyburn, Saskatchewan passed away Monday, November, 7, 2011 at the age of 88. Mary was born September 27, 1923 at Parry, Saskatchewan. On June 22, 1942, Mary married Horace Patterson at Milestone, Saskatchewan. They later moved to Weyburn, then to Fillmore and in 1950 they moved to Stoughton, where they raised their family. Mary enjoyed spending time with her children, playing ball and going for walks in the summer time and shoveling snow off the sloughs and skating in the winter. She loved gardening and always had lots of fresh vegetables for the kids to eat. All of the kids will vouch for the fact that her homemade bread was the best you could find any where. After losing her first husband on August 31, 1970, Mary moved to Weyburn where she worked at various jobs. On July 7, 1980, she married her second husband Mike Koch, who passed away July 10, 1989. Mary enjoyed knitting, bowling, playing cards and doing jigsaw puzzles. She liked animals, especially dogs and cats. Her grandchildren and great- grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed their visits and loved to talk about them. In 1999 she moved into Weyburn Special Care Home and then to Tatagwa View where she resided until her passing. Mary’s family is grateful for the loving care she received from the staff in House One. Mary was predeceased by her father, Rasmuss Rasmussen; her mother, Cynthia (Vanslyke) Cotton; her sisters Elsie (Ralph) Collins and Margaret (Dave) Bates; granddaughter Fallon; her first husband Horace Patterson and her second husband Mike Koch. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: John (Sharon) Patterson, Eileen Wright; Larry Patterson, Linda (Garry) Kreutzer, Gloria (Roger) Ralston, George (Della) Patterson, Mark Patterson, Wanda Terry, Glenn (Susann) Patterson, Alvin Patterson and Alvena (Richard) Missal; grandchildren: Monica (Andrew) Keys, Jason (Larrissa) Patterson, Darren Wright, Robert Patterson (Tracey), Deanah Patterson, Michael Kreutzer, Jacqueline (Gerald) Petit, Angela (Brian) Manz, Rebecca Ralston, James (Shanna) Ralston, Laura (Derek) Becker, Patricia (Brad) Bell, Gary (Brea) Patterson, Kenneth Patterson, Darcy Patterson, Sheldon Patterson, Derek Patterson, Danielle Patterson, Richard (Heather) Terry, Cynthia(Jerry) Varga, Galen (Amy) Patterson, Amber Patterson, Troy Patterson, Adam Patterson, Aaron (Crystal) Missal and Sheri Missal; great grandchildren: Nathan, Cheryl, Conner, Shayne, Mallory, Jocelyn, Rylee, Brett, Brody, Bryce, Gerren, Jaython, Brayden, Jordynn, Maci, Lexi, Taren, Harleigh, Ridge, Chais, Kyler, Abigail and Adrianna; her sister, Ilene Hiles (Mel) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. A Funeral Service was held Monday, November 14, 2011 at Stoughton Apostolic Church, Stoughton, Saskatchewan, with Reverend Ken Stoddard officiating. Interment took place at Stoughton Cemetery, Stoughton, Saskatchewan.
