She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, John Dyck; her parents, Jacob and Margaret Schapansky; brother Wilbert Schapansky; sisters, Marjorie Rempel and Elma Klassen; brother-in-law, Victor Klassen and sister-in-law, Margaret Schapansky. Miriam was born on the family farm outside of Herbert, Saskatchewan on July 2, 1939. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Herbert Nursing Home for a few years. Miriam married the love of her life, John Dyck, on October 12, 1958 at the Mennonite Conference Church in Herbert, Saskatchewan. Miriam was a stay at home mom and kept herself busy with raising the four children. Her hobbies were bowling, baking, knitting, crocheting and sewing. The family also moved to Leduc, Alberta for about 6 months. Another move soon after took the family to Fort Qu’Appelle in 1975 where Miriam took on a cooking job at the Scenic Centre Café. In 1981 they made their final move to McTaggart where she resided until May of 2018. She stayed at home for a few years and then once again decided to resume her love of cooking and took a job at the Truck Stop Restaurant in Weyburn. Her passion for crafting, woodworking, cooking, gardening, baking and sewing, to name a few, always kept her busy.
