Bonnie J. Reed, 87 of Lakewood, Colorado peacefully passed February 18, 2020. She was born November 13, 1932 in Columbia, Missouri to John F. Sapp, Sr. and Allie Mae Sapp (Bledsoe). She was number five of six children.
Bonnie married Garland D. Reed November 17, 1950. He preceded her in passing on September 4, 1998. Bonnie served shoulder to shoulder with him during his career in the U.S. Air Force.
She crocheted and quilted for family, friends and donations to the Clements Center, learning these skills from her mother.
Bonnie is survived by three daughters: Debbie Foss, Sandy Reed, Terri Aberle; two grandsons, Anthony M. Aberle (Alex) and Hudson G. Foss (Cristina); two great-grandsons, Anthony G. Aberle and Weston Haverkamp, great-grand daughter Morgan Wood; her sister Hallie Mae Willard (Charles) Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; brother William P. Sapp (Becky), Casa Grande, Arizona; her best friend from high school Dorothy Elder, Hotchkiss, Colorado. Bonnie also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins she adored. She had a soft spot in her heart for all animals and had many over her lifetime. Bonnie is preceded by her parents, brothers Kenneth Sapp, John Sapp Jr and sister Mary Helen Bangert.
Service will be held Monday, February 24, 2020, 9:30 a.m. at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 W. 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado in the Pavilion. Celebrant: Trish Leary. Pallbearers: Anthony M. Aberle, Hudson G. Foss, Anthony G. Aberle and Mitchell Reed. Reception immediately following service in the building next door to the Pavilion.
Internment will be Thursday, February 27, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver, Colorado.
