He graduated from Grandview High School in Aurora CO in 2006. Then went on to study at the University of Kentucky where he graduated in 2011 with a degree in Political Science. In high school, Adam was a Captain of the Varsity Swim Team where he competed locally and in State competition. Adam was also a member of the prestigious Colorado Stars Swim Club, where he competed on a national stage.
Before attending the University of Kentucky, Adam was awarded an appointment to West Point Military Academy but chose to attend the University of Kentucky instead. During his time at UK, Adam became an active participant in the ROTC and a member of the select National Pershing Rifles Society where he served as the training officer for future cadets.
Adam's post-graduate life included work as a computer industry consultant working with many fortune 500 companies as well as starting his own consulting company with his brother.
His curiosity for life would drive him to consume many books a week. Although books and knowledge were his passion, his true love was with the outdoors. Skiing, hiking, climbing, biking, scuba, and camping were among his favorite activities; as well as traveling, he has visited almost all of the states in the US as well as 14 countries.
Adam lived his life to help and serve others as he demonstrated by his love of nature and people. He had a servant's heart which was expressed in his mission trips, feeding the homeless and serving children in need.
Adam is survived by his mother, Tina Johnson Mueller (Rick), father James Virgil Prewitt (Candace), brother Eric Prewitt of Fort Collins, CO and his sister Lola Prewitt of Lexington KY. In addition, he is survived by grandparents Brenda Buntin of Lexington KY, William M and Glenna Jo Johnson of Zebulon KY, Carter and Zoe, Denver CO and many other family members and treasured friends. He was preceded by Jim Prewitt of Nicholasville KY and Bill Buntin of Lexington KY.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Lexington KY on Saturday, February 22nd from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
A second Celebration of Life will be held in Colorado at a later date.
